Junior Shooting The Rebel

Today’s picture shows my 10 yo son during one of his first D-SLR shooting sessions with my old Canon Rebel (also known as EOS 350D). I took this picture with my Leica M8, an awesome camera with a very steep learning curve. If you’ve ever shot with a range-finder camera you know what I mean.

#39/365 Fleeing the Heat

The weather forecast announced a very hot day with temperatures around 35C or 95F so we went up to the mountains.

#17/365 Divided

It’s still raining here in Switzerland with no end in sight. This spring (or is it supposed to be Summer) really s…cks big time. I shot this picture in the early morning while it was raining hard.

#17/365 Divided

Due to the heavy rain, there was almost no contrast in the scene so I really had to pull the Lightroom sliders to their limits. See below for the Before (RAW file) and After

#6/365 Downstream for June 7, 2010

I’m driving by that creek every day on my way to work and it usually has just a few drops of water but due to some heavy thunderstorms that passed by the previous eve, it was pretty full this morning. I’ve shot it with about 4 different lenses but the 70-200 f/2.8 at 80mm ended up as my favorite for this subject.

I shot it without a ND filter as it was still raining and rather dark. In order to get the water silky, I stopped the lens down to f/13 at ISO 50 which gave me a 1 second exposure.
