It’s still raining here in Switzerland with no end in sight. This spring (or is it supposed to be Summer) really s…cks big time. I shot this picture in the early morning while it was raining hard. Due to the heavy rain, there was almost no contrast in the scene so I really had to pull the Lightroom sliders to their limits. See below for the Before (RAW file) and After I’m driving by that creek every day on my way to work and it usually has just a few drops of water but due to some heavy thunderstorms that passed by the previous eve, it was pretty full this morning. I’ve shot it with about 4 different lenses but the 70-200 f/2.8 at 80mm ended up as my favorite for this subject. I shot it without a ND filter as it was still raining and rather dark. In order to get the water silky, I stopped the lens down to f/13 at ISO 50 which gave me a 1 second exposure. |
